Our story
A garden built together.
Concord Community Garden was established in 2013 by local gardeners with the support of the City of Canada Bay. From 12 original timber beds, the garden has grown into a thriving shared space with 36 growing beds.
Since 2013
From twelve beds to a shared garden.
The garden has operated continuously since 2013. Member-led grant applications and many hours of practical work have helped expand and improve the site. In 2019, the garden moved from mostly privately managed beds to a predominantly communal model, creating greater opportunities for crop rotation, stronger harvests and a closer sense of community.

Our purpose is to provide a satisfying and enjoyable environment where people can learn and practise organic, sustainable gardening while building a sense of community.

Inside the garden
Made for growing, learning and gathering.
Our facilities support organic food growing, soil health, water conservation, biodiversity and community connection.
Healthy soil systems
Worm farms, compost bins and worm hotels transform organic material into resources for the garden.
Habitat for pollinators
Two native bee hives, two insect hotels and flowering plants support local biodiversity.
Seedlings and water
A seedling-growing pod, two rainwater tanks, automatic irrigation and retractable hoses support year-round growing.
Places to gather
Our pergola, meeting area, garden shed and tool shed make working and learning together easier.
Active membership
Everyone contributes in their own way.
Membership is active and hands-on. Members are allocated to a working group and contribute according to their skills and abilities.
